How to contribute to the Observer...
Milestones
Whatever "Milestone" you are celebrating in your life,
whether it be a birth, a wedding, an engagement, a graduation, a promotion, a wedding anniversary
or just a regular,
old birthday, you can submit a picture (JPG format please, as a separate attachment) along with
your announcement
by E-mailing us at spobserver@comcast.net. Milestones are FREE OF CHARGE.

If you would prefer the old-fashioned way, you may send us your announcement via regular mail,
addressed to:
The South Plainfield Observer, 1110 Hamilton Blvd., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 or drop it off during
regular
business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you include a stamped, self-addressed
envelope with your
picture, we will gladly mail them back to you. Otherwise, you may stop by the office anytime after
publication to
pick up your photos. If you do not wish to include a photo, you may fax your milestone to (908) 668-8819. Please DO NOT
fax photos; we cannot reproduce them.
Suggested Format for Engagement Announcements (or wedding announcements):
"Mr. & Mrs. So and So announce the engagement of their daughter, So and So, to Mr. So and So,
son of Mr. & Mrs. So and So.
The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of So and So High School and a 2004 graduate of So and So University.
She is currently employed as a So and So with So and So Company.
The groom-to-be is a 2000 graduate of So and So High School and a 2004 graduate of So and So University. He
is currently employed as a So and So with So and So Company.
A May 2010 wedding is planned."

Events
|
Events may be submitted via E-mail, fax or regular mail. It is best to submit your Event as early
as possible prior to the event date. We do our best to include all In Town Events we receive and
Out of Town events on a first-come, first-served
basis based on space availability; however, we
cannot guarantee publication of any event. There is NO CHARGE for publication on our Events page, however, if your Event
MUST be publicized, you may choose to pay for an advertisement.
Preferred format for submitting an Event is as follows:
Heading, 2 Lines Maximum (Example: Oldtimers Hosting / Dinner Dance)
Date (Ex: December 8)
Brief description (Ex: The Old Timers Dance Group is holding an open dance at The Polish Home, 123 Market St.
{if out of town, name town here} on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Tickets: $10 members; $15 non-members. Includes
cocktail hour, dinner and live music.

Letters to the Editor
Letters to the Editor may be submited via E-mail, fax or regular mail.
THE OBSERVER DOES NOT PUBLISH ANONYMOUS LETTERS.
Deadline is Monday 5 p.m. Letters must be accompanied by a name and telephone number for verification. Please limit
letters to no more than 200 words. We reserve the right to refuse a letter, to edit for clarity or length, and to limit
the number of letters submitted on the same subject.
